Is Air Conditioning necessary in CT right now?

Without knowing you personally I can only tell you that here in Pennsylvania many homes do not have ac. It does come in handy once in awhile but we hardly ever use ours (maybe 2 weeks a year). My guess would be that since CT is north of PA the weather won't be warmer anyway.

LilyLace's argument is not quite watertight; the city I live in is at the same latitude as Milan, and let me tell you, it gets a LOT colder here than it ever does in Milan!
Given the unpredictability of weather patterns around the world these days, it's impossible to say whether you will need air conditioning or not. My best guess is that you might find that it would have been welcome but that it is not indispensable.

Just returned from Montpellier in the South of France and it was 27 degrees in the day. Montpellier is to the north of CT. I did not bother to turn on the AC in the room. Then again, I have more than made my feelings known previously on this site on people declining excellent hotels because they don't have AC. I suppose it all depends on what you are used to and how much of a wuss you are. LOL.

Fall has arrived in Italy and the temps have dropped a bit. While it will still be warm during the day 22-25C, the nights cool down considerably and air conditioning won't be necessary. I was in Riomaggiore and Monterosso al mare just 2 weeks ago and there was a steady breeze and no need for the a/c!

Thanks for the replies. I'm from South Carolina and we're still running our ac and wearing sleeveless clothing. Part of our trip will be in Umbria and I suppose the evenings will be cool there; but, I wasn't sure about CT alias Cinque Terre.

Go to:
www.weather.com
Once there you type in your destination and it will give you a five day forecast with highs and lows for each day plus precip. If it doesn't recognize CT try typing in the nearest large city...Florence, Pisa, whatever.
