Interlaken or Grindelwald in late April

Trying to decide where to stay for 3 nights in the week of April 21st. Since some of the mountain lifts are closed (Schilthorn and First) I'm worried that Grimelwald might not be a good choice.

If I stay in Interlaken and the weather is iffy, I could more easily take a Lake cruise or ffind some other non-mountain options from Interlaken?

I really only have 2 full days, and love photography so want to concentrate on scenic vistas, rather than hiking.

Any advice appreciated......

I stayed at the Beau Rivage in Interlaken a couple of years ago for a few days in April. The weather was not what I had hoped it would be. In that part of the world, the attractions are all out of doors, so if the weather is awful, there's not much to do. I'd suggest going to Lucerne instead. It very beautiful and, if the weather disappoints, there are things to do there . . . indoors! We like the Art Deco Hotel Montana. The views from there of the lake and the mountains are sensational, and I believe the lake steamers run all year long.
