Wengen in late April

Wengen in late April
I am looking for lodging in Wengen for the last weekend in April...it looks like most hotels are shut down during this time...is this correct?
We are spending a long weekend in the area and need to be able to get to Interlaken to be picked up for our skydive! We don't really want to stay in Interlaken...what options do we have for this time of year that would be comparable to Wengen?

Yes, many hotels close after the ski season, but I hope not every single one! Have you tried contacting the tourist office through www.wengen.ch?
Anyway, I don't think you'll find many other places similar to Wengen. Maybe Grindelwald -- which is bigger, has car traffic, and may have a hotel available. Check it at www.grindelwald.ch.
Otherwise, think about the town of Thun, right on Lake Thun. Ok, it's not a mountain village, but it's close to Interlaken, it's picturesque, and it's largely overlooked by tourists. Check it out at www.thuntourismus.ch.
