Iceland - Any B&B/Farmstay/Guesthouse Recommendations?
Calling all Iceland experts (assuming that there are some)!
My wife and I are traveling to Iceland at the beginning of October for 2 weeks. We plan on driving the ring road and stopping at various points along the way.
Any recommendations for places to stay (towns or areas in general, B&B's/farms/hotels specifically)?
Also any places to eat, things to see, trails to hike, etc. would be greatly appreciated.
I'm currently weeding thru all of the previous questions and travelogues, so thanks for all of your previous posts.
Thanks in advance!

The farm that I liked a lot on our stay in June was Hotel Geirland in Kirkjubæjarklaustur. We didn't really explore the area, but I think there's a lot to do around there. It's near the southeast corner of Iceland.

We also really enjoyed Hotel Hellnar in Snaefellsnes. We had a view of the ocean.

Don't miss the big watefalls on the Ring Road - Skogarfoss was my favorite. Skaftafell Nat'l Park is a great place to hike. You can find my trip report if you click on my name. Sorry, I'm having trouble coming up with the link to it.
Have a great time, and bundle up! Fleece and rain gear are your friends.

Bölti Farm Guest House on the hillside overlooking the Sandur at Skaftafell. Small, friendly, superb location.
Stöng Farm Guest House a few kilometres off the Ring Road to the south-west of Myvatn. Working farm quite isolated and in very quiet area (2WD access).
Comments under Iceland at http://tinyurl.com/3xqm5u may help re these and walks.
