Europe has a great train system and you can buy the Eurorail passes that let you get on and off or just purcahse a straight ticket to Munich.

According to www. whichbudget.com, Transavia flies from Amsterdam to Salzburg. From Salzburg it would be less than 2 hours by rail to Munich.

Amsterdam CS stands for Amsterdam Centraal Station which is the station you would use to get from there to Munich; probably with a change in Manheim.

Another option...you could catch a train from A'dam to Brussels airport (change around Antwerp or in Brussels, takes about 2.5 hours) and catch a Virgin Express/SN Brussels flight to Munich airport...one-way fares are as low as 19 euros, according to a quick search on www.whichbudget.com

I would definitely consider BTilke's suggestion; the train ride A'dam-Munich is a long one and if you aren't all that interested in riding the rails....

According to bahn.de there are several direct trains per day taking 7/8 hours. Don;t know your dates of travel or any posible reductions you may have - the basic second class fare is about 135 euros.

You might want to consider a night train. We are taking one from Munich to Amsterdam that leaves Munich at 10:40 p.m. and arrives in Amsterdam at 8:53 a.m.

This way we can save on one night's accomodation. We were able to get an economy double for 69E each.

http://www.citynightline.ch

Under Online Buchung, there is an English option.

I took the City night train, it cost around 120 Euros for a double sleeper. It was great and I saved on a hotel for the night.
