Amsterdam Pride Festival 2004

If you're in Amsterdam from August 5 to 8, you will be able to celebrate the Gay and Lesbian Festival. Lots of info at:

Does one always refer to oneself in the third person?

One can hardly use oneself to describe the first person.

Ira, why don't you and M_Kingdom just get married and go to the Pride Festival next year together? I'm certain the trip report would be unforgettable!

The one in Montreal is not to be sniffed at either, I understand.

But I suspect that JSmith lies in the UK, so that Amsterdam is closer than Boston or Montreal.

One can be quite witty when one wants to be

NYC has a Gay Pride Day and Parade that isn't too shabby either!

Oh dear, a ghastly typo! That should, of course, be "lives" insteaf of "lies."

Living in Seattle WA US gay pride is always a much looked forward to event. For jsmith, thanks for posting... finding local events has always been a highlight of my trips.

Eloise, your suspicion is incorrect. My wife of 45 years and I live happily in central Massachusetts and are heterosexual although celibacy is an approaching danger.

I posted the address today because it was in an article in timesonline and there seemed to be a number of postings on Amsterdam recently.

suze, there are two sites that I'm aware of for events. The first is for the world and the second is culled from the first by The Times for Europe only:

My sincere apologies, JSmith -- for two erroneous conclusions: that you were British because you frequently posted references to travel articles in the Times of London and that you had a personal interest in the Amsterdam Pride Festival.
