how far out
We are in London for 1 week, and would like to know is St. Katherine's dock marina too far out to see the sites of London.
We are looking at Covent garden/bloomsbury/south kensington we know these areas are better, but we need to be able to park our car and this accom has parking. we don't intend to drive around london, just drive to get there.

Assuming you mean the Hamlet flats - they are terrific to work w/.
It is a bit of a hike to Tower Hill tube station at night - but at night I'd just take a cab to the next door Tower Hotel. If you need a car (why?) anyway, if you need a car - it probably is your best bet in central-ish London.
Some pluses - nearby supermarket, pubs/restaurants right w/i St Katherine's Dock, reasonable walk across the river to the South Bank/Burrough Market/Globe etc. Right next door to the Tower of London and the river.
Minus: _ well that night time walk from the tube station - though it isn't that bad. And it will take a while to get to sites in the center of town.

Meant to ask - have you decided against the Crouch End place?
Curious - I'm assuming you live in the UK (because of the driving into London bit). If so - taking the train up to London might be easier - and then you could stay anywhere and not have to consider parking.
just a thought . . . . . .

yes decided against crouch end, we only want to drive down because hubby gets free petrol but I have managed to Find a 24 hour underground car park that will only charge us £98 for the full week to leave car safly parked up. so am now looking at aparts in Bloomsbury, south kensington, chelsea. Have posted queries but am waiting for replies
