Hotel Square in Paris + Rome & Florence
Planning to travel to Paris, Florence and Rome in mid-July. Considering Hotel Square in Paris, which has received excellent reviews here. Anyone stayed there before? Are the rooms spacious and how's the location? Also, how's Hotel Buci Latin, Hotel Duc de Saint-Simon, Hotel Le Tourville and Hotel La Villa Saint-Germain-des-Pres? My family prefers new hotels w/ spacious rooms. I would appreciate if someone could offer me more hotel recommendations - this is going to be my first trip to Paris!

How about hotels in Rome and Florence? Any recommendations on that? Thanks so much!

Justin,
The Tourville has rooms of varying sizes, but I'm not sure they'd qualify as "spacious". Sometimes the room is an adequate size, the bathroom is kind of small.

In Florence, I would recommend the Hotel Pitti Palace. In Rome, I'd recommend Casa Howard, the Hotel San Gregoriana or the Hotel Parlamento.

Bon Voyage & Buon Viaggio,
BC

If you can accept that you're a bit out of the center of the action (which means another 3 Metro stops), this is a good option. Try to see if you can get a promotional rate. Rooms are larger than those at other hotels on your list. Also, some of those other hotels don't have AC, a must for July. You'll be in a very nice area.

There are several that have been opened in the last few years that are very nice. You didn't say where you'd prefer to stay, but here are a few that are considered the best, all around $200 a night or less:
-Sixth District: Hotel Luxembourg Parc, only about a year old, 23 rooms, lovely.
-Fifth: Libertel Quartier Latin, also only about a year old.
-Marais: Hotel Axial Beaubourg, less than a year old.

These are all very nice. As for Hotel Square, I don't know anything about it, so I'll leave that for others to comment. You mentioned Hotel la Villa St-Germain des Pres, which is also very nice and recently redone in somewhat gaudy (to me) colors but tasteful.

How about hotels in the $250/night bracket? Any recommendations on that (in Rome, Florence, & Paris)? Also, if Paris, Rome and Florence are my destinations, should I spend 4 days/3 nights in Paris, 4 days/3 nights in Rome, and another 3 days/ 2 nights in Florence? Is it worth it to visit Venice & Milan or should we focus on the three cities listed above (given this is our first time to Europe)?

Thanks for the help!
