Hiring a Car/Driver and Guide/Translator in L'viv
I am planning a trip to L'viv and would like to get to the villages where my great-grandparents came from. They are about 250 km from L'viv. Does anyone have any advice or tips on hiring a car and guide? Can this be done before I leave? Should I wait until I get to L'viv? Any comments would be greatly appreciated!

Dear goalie29! In what region villages you need is located exactly? For example,I live in another region centre - Khmelnytskiy, it's about 250 km from Lviv. As far as i see yuo're going to fly to Lviv and then hire a car. How exactly the villages are called? May be i could help you at least with information where they are.

Husyatyn is an administrative centre of "raion", and Dzwiniaczka is a village, both of them are located in Ternopil'ska Oblast'. Your route from Lviv is going to be following: Lviv - Ternopil' - Terebovlya - Husyatyn - Dzwiniaczka and back to Lviv. The only way to get there from Lviv is to hire a car. The road from Ternopil' and further on isn't good, moreover, the road from Husyatyn to Dzwiniaczka has the characteristics of the mountaine one. I think, if you manage to negotiate with a driver from Lviv to pick you up at Lviv airport, it could be possible to make such round trip in a day, unless you wouldn't like to spend more time with your relatives.

Find someone you can trust, someone reliable. Speak to people who have been to Lviv and used different car services. Using a conventional taxi is good as well, provided that you know the numbers to call and speak the local language.

I am thinking of going over in May. I will stay in Lviv but I will need someone to translate and take me to my Fathers village. It is called Limna. I am not even sure if it is possible to drive there or if there is anything left of the village. If anyone can help me it would be greatly appreciated.
