Greece in October?
I'm planning on traveling to Greece for our honeymoon from 10/18 to 10/28 (10 nights). So far, I've planned to stay for
3 nights in Mykonos
3 nights in Santorini
4 nights in Athens
I'm concerned about the weather in October. How's the weather in October and will there be ferry going to those island during that time?
Also, are there any islands I should visit? We don't like to move from places to places too much. Preferably to stay in one place at least for 2-3 nights.
Thank you.

It will be chilly at night, probably windy, but the days should be sunny. The sea might be too cold for swimming and most of the pools are not heated. Ferries run all year long.
I recommend that you choose either Santorini OR Mykonos, not both, and use the extra days to visit a different sort of island environment close to one or the other, such as Naxos or Paros if you go to Santorini and Andros or Tinos if you go to Mykonos.

We were in Santorini last fall for October 4th-11th. The weather was sunny and pleasant but sometimes a bit cool for certain people when it came to the unheated pool.
The people working at our hotel were counting the minutes to head off the island as soon as they could for
Thailand where many spend the winter months.
Seems they would close the hotel based on how the season was weather wise. They said it had been a very nice fall. I don't understand how this works with standing reservations though.
Do your island time first then head to Athens or elsewhere on the mainland.
Why so many days in Athens?

If you like to sightsee, Athens has several neat day trips you could take. Delphi, Corinth, and I forget the name, but there is a place at the southern tip with some temple ruins (maybe Apollo??) with wonderful places to have lunch.

I'm not sure where else to go so I tentatively plan to stay in Athens for 4 nights until I figure something else out. Perhaps I should stay in the island for more nights? any thoughts and suggestions?
