Grande Bretagne Athens Spa

My friend and I just booked our three-night stat at the GB for June. We would like to indulge in a massage while we are there. Has anyone here had a massage at the GB? Are massages as discrete and modest (i.e. you're covered under a sheet) there as they are in the states? Nudity is more common in Europe (i.e. picture of sauna on Hilton Athens website shows a women topless) and wasn’t sure if this might not also apply to massage services--we’re just a couple of American gals not so comfortable bearing it all.

Hi Sam or is it Samantha...Anyway, the GB is a fine hotel. Send them an email and put your question directly to them. If you don't get a polite response you are booked at the wrong place.

samtraveler,

I'm sure that you can have the massage done according to your preferences. I had a reflexology done there and it was wonderful! The spa is really gorgeous, as is the rest of the hotel. Have a good time!

Hey! Loved the spa - had a couples massage with my hubby there on our honeymoon! Yes, you fully nude except for paper underwear they ask you to wear - but you are always fully covered by a blanket except for the parts they are massaging! Just like in North America! No worries! The best part of the spa are the AMAZING steam rooms - AMAZING! Make sure to arrive at least two hours early and experience each room! (They all have different oils and scents and methods!) We literally only booked the massages to check out the steam rooms - yes, they are worth it. Best spa in Europe!!

Thanks jamesandi. That is super helpful. Can you tell me what the "dress code" is for the steam room? We're looking forward to an afternoon at the spa after our transatlantic flight!
