Good morning, Richard
Can not find a CASA FROLLO in Veniceinfo
which is a major hotel listing for Venice, nor does yahoo or google search
from up with a pensione by that name.
However there is information on it that
it is a art gallery....

Yes, it is still there. I have friends who live around the corner on the fondamenta delle Zitelle and have just now heard back from them that this is the hotel! (Sounded familiar)
The hotel is a pleasant looking 2 star on the rio della Pallada. I forgot to ask about the art gallery, maybe it is in the hotel. There are several listings on google with phone & fax for hotel.

Coco, Thanks for your help but we tried
Google and the phone number we got is not working for us. The address we have from an old receipt is Guidecca n. 50 which is on Guidecca Island in Venice. We've stayed twice and really love this little pensione. Any additional help would be really appreciated. Thanks, Sandi

Hi Sandi,
I think we are speaking of the same hotel, just realized (once consulted the map) that Fond. Zitelle is where we get off the boat but over by the hotel fondamenta has a different name.
I was curious enough to consult the Google listings and found 2 with phone numbers. At veneto.org they list 041-5208299 and at gatourism.it they list 041-5222723 and the one above as well as fax: 041-5206203. The zero is required for past few years.
If none of those #s pans out, please let me know. Will be in Venice next week (leaving NY on Tuesday) and may make it over there. Actually the two ancient aunts of my Venice friend and they love speaking English with the American "girl"...what's not to love!

We loved Casa Frollo, our room was very romantic and looked out across to the main square in Venice. We loved taking the Vaporatti over to our little love nest. One teenie tiny problem. We had given a deposit of $100 by check from the US and upon checkout, Senora Frollo conveniently forgot to credit us the $100 and we did not discover our error until we arrived in Cannes the next morning. We called and she said that she would send us a check post haste. When we arrived in Carlsbad a few weeks later there was an airmail envelope with a note of apology and reference to said $100 deposit but no check...Ahh the tricks they play in Venice...not to mention the Glass Factory on Murano..ha ha ha
