getting from Rome to airport for early flight

I need advice on the best way to get from our hotel in Rome to the airport. Unfortunately when I booked our flight, I wasn't aware that the Leonardo Express doesn't start service until about 6:30 am. Our flight leaves at 7:50 am!!!! What is the most economical way for me to get myself, husband and 8 year old daughter to the airport?

Ditto - can't beat that - it's a fixed tariff, there may be a slightly higher rate for early morning (night rate) but even then, it's the way to go.

Isn't Airport Shuttle a shared van service? I wouldn't count on it since they might stop to pick up others at various hotels.

Rome Shuttle Limousine is 40€ for three people.

Take KyB's advice, Rome Shuttle is an excellent service, no hidden fees and they are always waiting for you, regardless of the hour.

I have always used LIMOSERVICEROME.

http://www.limoservicesrome.eu/

used them for year and we are going with friends and their flight leaves Rome very very early. They r being picked up at their hotel around 5:30 am but there is a larger fee since it is so early...costing them 78 euros.

we are using the same company later on in the morning and it is costing us 45 Euros..And it is just hubs and myself..no addtl stops like a shuttle does.

This company is ON TIME, don't drive like maniacs and are WONDERFUL...

I'm with Andy on Limoservice Rome. I had to be at the airport around 5 or 5:30 one morning to catch a flight to Milan (it was on the day of a scheduled train strike) and Limoservice Rome sent a driver who arrived promptly at my hotel, was courteous and friendly, and there was actually very little traffic that morning on the way to the airport and we made good time there.

bc - Andy did not link to Limo Service Rome. He linked to the copycat company that has tried to hijack their name and reputation. Notice the S at the end of services. There have been multiple negative reports about them. Here is the link to the real Limo Service (no S at the end of service) Rome. I have used them and had good service, but they are more expensive than Rome Shuttle Limousine.

A short Rome Airport story:
We had prearranged transportation to the airport. The driver arrived at our hotel at 4:15, scheduled for 4:30. We drove through the early morning, light traffic and arrived at the airport in good time. The driver sped toward the drop off point and then slammed on brakes, tossing us around considerably. The "arm" did not rise to clear the way, so he had to brake fast. Pretty soon there was another van behind us, and then another. Still the arm didn't move. When it finally did raise, the driver moved to the drop off place just outside the doors to the airport. All the lights were OFF. Doors locked. So, there we stood for over an hour, in the chilly March air, no facilities, to place to sit, and no signs saying when the doors would open.
Once they did open, we stood in line for our airline for another 45 minutes because they were not on duty yet.
So, be sure to check what time the airport opens, for your particular flight area. We had no idea this could happen but it sure did.
