GDC Airport Transportation - Help

Here we are leaving May 23 for Paris and I need your help. Last year in Rome, the small hotel arranged for a driver to meet us at the airport as we arrived and take us immediately to the hotel, cost was 50 euro. Our Paris hotel has arranged for a shuttle for us for 36 euro but we have to phone them upon arrival, there could be a lengthy wait for other passengers to arrive. When I asked the Paris hotel for an arrangement similar to the one we had in Rome, their response was 145 euro. Surely, there must be a cheaper way to be met at the airport. I realize there is also a taxi. Is that a good idea, how much would a taxi cost? Any comments or suggestions would be very much appreciated. Thanks.

Take a taxi. No muss, no fuss, no waiting around. Depending on where your hotel is located in Paris, it will run 35-45 Euros. Don't give it a second thought and don't screw around with shuttles.

Also, go to the official taxi rank at the airport. Follow the signs. If someone offers you a "taxi" in the terminal, don't bite.

Forget about that shuttle. I agree. Take a Taxi Parisien that you can line up for outside the exit. Sometimes those shuttle services the hotels suggest charge too much. And as for dependability it's not certain.

€145 is rather stiff. Another vote for a regular taxi. My last one was about €45 from CDG to the Bastille area during morning rush hour.

If you are no more than 3 or 4 people a cab is probably your best bet. If you have a lot of luggage you can get a minivan cab - there is no additional cost beyond what a regular sedan type cab would run. As previously mentioned, do not use any of the gypsy cabs who will approach you, take only a licensed cab from the official taxi stand. Even if there is a short line, it generally moves quite quickly. Depending on where you are headed and how many bags the fare will run about 40 to 50 euro.

For the last few visits to Paris my fare from CDG to the city center cost no more than 47 euro.
