First Trip

Hello all. I am trying to plan a trip going to Paris & London but have no idea where to start. Any advice on how to begin would be appreciated. Thanks!

Go to the destinations section of this board and read the sample itineraries for London and Paris.

Get some guidebooks from the library and read about each city, figuring out what things interest you.

Decide how long you want to spend in each city.

A good site for looking at air arrangements is www.ITASoftware.com

Fodors, Frommers, Rick Steves. tripadvisors, venere.com are good resources for researching hotels.

Hi J,

Fly into London, take the Eurostar to Paris, fly home.

Start with these two web sites from Fodor's as well as the resources mentioned by abram above.

http://www.fodors.com/miniguides/mgr...tion=paris@117

http://www.fodors.com/miniguides/mgr...tion=london@91

Some other beginning thoughts:

Welcome to Fodor's.

Plan on spending 5-7 days in each city.

Plan to fly into one city and pout of the other - the cost will be about the same (maybe $50 higher) than a round trip. Take the eurostar train between Paris and London. http://www.eurostar.com

Come back here after you've done a little research. Click on your name at the top of this page where it says "Welcome: JackieUCF" to get the latest respones to your questions. You may have to click on your name twice.

http://www.fodors.com/forums/threads...p;tid=34673104

is a current thread on planning a trip, and it includes a link to the Paris superthread

here is a link to the London superthread

http://www.fodors.com/forums/threads...p;tid=34548473

I have long files on London and Paris; if you'd like to see them, and if your email inbox can accept big attachments, email me at [email protected]

People can make more specific suggestions here if you will say how many days you will have for your trip, and some idea about your budget--for example, how much can you spend on a hotel per night, for how many people.

If you can get a fare that suits you, by all means take the Eurostar from London to Paris rather than flying. It is just so convenient.
