Ferry to Siphnos
Am I missing something? Are regular ferry schedules not out yet for end of May/June? When I go to the search sites for ferries in the Cyclades (Piraeus to Siphnos) all I get is a high speed ferry that runs every other day. I need to go from Piraeus to Siphnos on May 31 and return June 5. I want know the timing, not necessarily book it yet. I thought I saw some mention of new schedules here, but now I can't find it. Help, please.

I checked both www.gtp.gr and www.openseas.gr and neither website shows anything on the 31st, but there is a ferry on the 30th. For the return trip you'll either have to go on the 4th or the 6th.
The upcoming season's schedules are coming out now. Perhaps something more will be added for Piraeus>Sifnos but I don't think so.

Some Greek ferry companies publish schedules in advance and others don't. 31 May is a Saturday, so I looked at next Saturday, 29 March. There are two sailings to Sifnos:
0725 AGIOS GEORGIOS of Ventouris Sea Lines (www.ventourissealines.gr);
0730 HIGHSPEED 1 of Hellenic Seaways (www.hellenicseaways.gr).
There are likely to be more services in summer.

Yes, gtp.gr is showing Highspeed 1 departing Piraeus for Sifnos at 0730 on 31 May. Highspeed 1 also returns from Sifnos to Piraeus at 1835 on 5 Jun, so it looks like you are covered both ways.
Although neither ferry is presently available for booking, I can't imagine it being full on those dates. Book in advance if you wish, but you will almost certainly be able to get tickets after arrival in Greece.
There may be some conventional ferries on those dates as well.

Thanks, Heimdall. I wasn't planning to book until I got to Greece, but the return trip coincides with the biggest religious festival of the year on Sifnos, so I will want to get the return at the same time I get the ferry to Sifnos.
The Highspeed costs nearly twice what the regular ferry costs, doesn't it?

Veramarie, you are correct about prices of the highspeeds.
I see now that you are traveling back from Sifnos on Ascension Day. If that is Sifnos' biggest religious festival, then it would be a good idea to book your ferry tickets.
