Eurostar Italia train configuration

Here is a description of a typical layout of a Eurostar Italia (ES) train:

4 first class railcars with 182 seats
6 second class railcars with 408 seats
1 restaurant/bar railcar
Total 11 railcars with 590 seats
Length of train: 328 metres (1076 feet)
Maximum speed: 300 kilometers/hr (186 mi/hr)

Older model Eurostar trains have 3 first class railcars (137 seats), 5 second class railcars (321 seats), and a restaurant/bar railcar (total 9 railcars), and maximum speed of 250 kilometers/hr.

GAC, was wondering if you knew the answer to this--we are taking the Eurostar from Rome to Venice--are the first class cars generally in the front of the train, or do they alternate with the other cars?
Thanks.

They are usually at the front or at the end of the train. Very occasionally, they are in the middle. There are large placards at the major rail stations which show the configuration of all ES, IC, EC, ICN, EN and EXP trains departing from the station in question. Occasionally, changes to the configuration are announced over the loudspeakers at the last moment. It takes about 4 minutes to walk from one end of the train to the other (from the outside!).
