Driving
I am thinking about driving From milan to Val Gardena. I have two toddlers so we are trying to think of the fastest way to get there but also most scenic and simple to drive, perhaps with a stopping point.....? Any suggestions and how long would the drive be. I have heard 3 hours, are the speed limits ?? fast or slow...120 Fast 60 slow
THanks!!

What time of year are you planning to drive there? That will have some bearing on "simple" and how long it will take (on average, around 3.5hrs).
Maximum peed limits on Autostrade (highways) are 130km/h unless signposted (110km/h when raining - check overhead gantries when driving for updates). On other roads it's less, according to signs, but usually between 90-110km/hr on the B roads. And of course less again (50-60km/hr) in built up areas.
You could go via Verona for a stop, or stop at the southern point of Lake Garda (aroudn Sirmione), but that's not much into the journey.

Google Maps says 3:35, but I would allow 4 hours plus stops--that is to Ortisei. It is almost all Autostrda driving.
A good stop is Sirmione, but it will be crowded mid-day.
Only the last hour is scenic---the rest is a busy highway with lots of trucks.
