Dingle to Ennis

If you were driving from Dingle to Ennis which way would you go? Any place that you would stop along the way?

Couple of options.. Shannon Tunnel or Shannon Ferry.. depends on time and interests.

Listowel http://www.listowel.ie/ and Adare http://www.adarevillage.com/ would be the towns south of the Shannon worth a look for different reasons. Bunratty http://www.bunratty.ie/ jumps out as the main point North of the crossing although Limerick http://www.limerick.ie/ itself has a lot to offer..

There are some sights and points on these two maps.. http://goo.gl/maps/xMOHV http://goo.gl/maps/8diVp

When you consider that people say you need 2 days for the Dingle peninsula you would need a week at least for the area between there and Ennis.

Thanks for the options...I see that there is a farmers market on Fridays in Listowel and I think that we will take the ferry. Is it better to prepay for the ferry?

There is a link to the Shannon Ferry company in the map and you save a small amount by pre paying.. Make the most of the crossing which although only short if you get out of the car and on the platforms you could see a school of the Shannon Dolphins
