Day trip to Cordoba from Madrid...?
Hello,
I’m planning to travel from Lisbon (or Porto) to Madrid possibly via the hotel train. This is my second trip to Madrid and I’m considering also visiting Cordoba (saw Seville and Granada on my last journey to Spain). I'll be in Madrid for five days, and I was wondering if it was feasible to do a day trip to Cordoba. I see that the high speed only takes 90 minutes. I’m not opposed to staying over at least one night in Cordoba, but I’d rather simplify things and keep Madrid as my base.
I’d love to hear your thoughts.
Thanks!

Years ago we did this - one of our early trips to Europe and not yet moving around very much. It was a very pleasant day for us - we saw both the Mezquita and the Alcazar. I suspect train ticket prices have changed now so not sure how pricey it will be but time wise it is definately doable and the Mezquita is one of the more impressive sites that I have seen even after multiple trips to Europe. Have a pleasant trip!
