Costa del Sol - swim in the sea in May?

Is the water temperature comfortable for swimming in the sea in May in the Costa del Sol area?

It's been a while since I was there, but we did visit in May and I clearly remember the weather being suitable for sunbathing and swimming (assuming it doesn't rain, of course).

We were there in late April and the pools were open and I found the sea fine (compared to the North Atlantic - but I do prefer cold water to being boiled alive - water in FL is usually too hot for me). But there were a bunch of people swimming - so I assume so.

Yes, probably none of them Spaniards ) Unless there's some days of hot weather, which is not unusual in May

Think of Costa del Sol's weather as similar to North Carolina's. If you can swin in Cape Hatteras in May, then most likely Costa del Sol is ready for you!
