close to Degaulle airport

Is there anywhere to go out of the airport with a 4 hour layover? Thank you!

No - and you will need likely most of that time to make your on-going flight - depending on if you're going through immigration/customs and changing terminals.

Nope. Four hours isn't long enough to risk leaving the airport.

Thank you! We were wishful thinking. We are traveling with frequent flyer miles and tried to spend time there but could not get it to work. Next year, for as long as possible, we hope!

Yes! We had a four hour layover--grabbed a cab into town, ate lunch, cab back. No problem. I would NOT try it using public transportation.

All of our luggage was checked through to our next destination with the exception of some light carry-ons. We obtained forwarding boarding passes before leaving the airport--so we only needed to clear security on the return. Good luck!!

I would be suffering from too much stress about getting back to the airport on time to be able to enjoy the meal.

And chances are, the layover is not necessarily at mealtime.

The big IKEA store! We have no IKEA in Ireland so every time we pass by on the way to/from De Gaulle I say to DH "Maybe this time we could just pop in ...?" to which the answer is always a very firm "NO!".

Seriously, stay in De Gaulle and maybe get something nice to eat (if possible). Anything else would be just too stressful - especially in that particular airport.

You could eat at Ikea, too.
