Cafes etc in the 4th
I will be staying on Rue Sainte Croix de la Bretonnerie very close to where it crosses Rue des Archives starting this Thursday the 26th for 12 days. I haven't been to Paris since 2008 so I'm very excited to be going back.
I've stayed in the 6th and 7th before but this will be my first time in the 4th. If anyone has any cafes, bistros, bakeries etc to recommend I would appreciate it. I probably will find them when I'm out and about but will be looking for morning croissants on the first day after my 8:00 AM arrival I bet! Thanks to some recent trip reports, (thanks maitaitom!) I've gotten some good ideas for dinner spots but hoping to find a places for to stop for a coffee as well as places to get sandwiches and breakfast stuff to go.
Thanks in advance--- lynda

I have an acquaintance who lives on Rue de Turenne, very near the Place de Vosges. She likes the Brasserie Royal Turenne, corner of Rue de Turenne & Rue des Francs Bourgeois, where we met for lunch. It isn't very near your hotel, but if you'll be visiting the Place de Vosges, it's right there, a classic Paris brasserie.

Thanks to all for the suggestions. I will go by Pain de Sucre the first day I bet. Also planning on swinging by L'Ange 20 to make reservations and perhaps Pain Vin Fromage as well. I did make a reservation online at Bistro de l'oulette too.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.

One of our favorites in the 4th - http://www.tripadvisor.com/Restauran...de_France.html
On each of our trips we head to is our corner tabac, we have coffee and a croissant there every morning.
The troquet Temple: 9 Rue du Temple, Tobac
There is a good bakery on Rue de Temple, just down from the tabac as you head to Rue du Rivoli.
Our daily bagettes come from here: http://www.tripadvisor.com/Restauran...de_France.html
they also make up nice sandwiches.
Across the street is where the market is held - Marché Baudoyer
Location: Place Baudoyer, 4th arrondissement
Open Wednesday from 12:30 to 8:30 pm and Saturday from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm
There are so many great places in the 4th.
