Know these cities are relatively close on the map, but can anyone help give suggestions for traveling between the two? We won't have a car, so relying on public transportation - bus or train. Not finding much info online.

Thanks, I've looked there, but the connections are really long for the distance these cities are apart. Hoping for local insight.

Just for a time comparison, the drive by car is about 45 minutes between Burghausen and Salzburg. (We loved Burghausen, a charming village with wonderful music and art festivals).

My local insight tells me: "You'll need a car". There are some really nice towns in the area and the best priced gas stations close to the Führers hometown.

We like Burghausen too, but unfortunately, from Salzburg it's best reached by car.
