Austria and Germany

We'll be driving from Vaduz to St. Anton, Landeck, Seefeld, Garmisch-Partenkchen - possibly spending the night in Innsbruck; then on to Salzburg the following night via Schwaz, Kitzbuhel, Zell a See and Bad Reichenhall to Salzburg. Any suggestions for accomodation in or around either Innsbruck and Salzburg. Things to do and see along the way??

Our favorite place to stay near Salzburg is the Hotel Friesacher in Anif. The hotel is about 10 minutes outside of the Salzburg center and is charming, with a wonderful breakfast. The heated bathroom floors are a divine luxury (but the price is right).

Tries, I'm also starting to plan my trip to Austria in Sept, and we are looking for a place to stay outside of Salzburg. Do you have a website for the hotel you mentioned?

Thanks!!

Anne

We have also stayed at the Friesacher, many times. I have had Austrians tell me it is the "Finest Gasthaus in Austria" I certainly have not tried them all, but this one is great. Their website is www.Hotelfriesacher.com

szanti,

Before heading off to Salzburg, you'd do well to look into the Hotel-Pension Jedermann (www.hotel-jedermann.com). It's nicely situated on a quiet street, a pleasant ten-minute walk to Mirabell Gardens. This small hotel is very fairly priced, offers good, friendly service, and bright, tidy rooms. It's a terrific base to explore a most elegant city, Salzburg.
