budapest,vienna,prague-am i doing this right?

i'm planning to stay 4 days in each city. should i change to more or less time in each? also, i'm using marriott points to stay in budapest marriott, renaissance wien (vienna) and prague marriott. anyone know anything about these hotels? (location, etc.).
i was told this plan was a good one, but am willing to make changes as to time or cities if anyone has any other ideas.
thanks!

I did Vienna, Prague and Berlin last year. Don't know the hotels, but re: time in each city,I think your plan is spot on. You will have a BLAST!!

BTW, one of the highlights of my trip was the train rides between the cities. Hope you're planning that...

And if I, or someone else, said your chosen hotels were total cr*p what would you do next?

I've made this trip. It sounds great, but I'd shave a day off Budapest and spend it in Prague, if you like great architecture, or in Vienna, if you like great art.

4 days depends upon if you want to make any day trips outside of Prague.

Vienna could take more days than 4 as you could take a day trip to Salzburg, a day trip to Melk, a day trip to Bratislavia.

If it were me I would go 3 nights Prague and 6 nights Vienna and 3 nights Budapest.

You can check out the reviews for the hotels you selected on Fodors and tripadvisor.
I can stay in a Marriott in the USA so I would prefer hotels that are more related to the country I am visiting. Actually, b&bs are more to my liking.

I wouldn't take a day off Budapest for Prague. They(VBP) all deserve equal time. I could spend a week in any of them and not run out of things to see and do!

Have a great trip!

Hello ctroum, what a wonderful trip you've planned! We stayed in the Prague + Budapest Marriotts last fall and liked them both. Bought the Budapest stay on eBay, and won the Prague in a charity auction. Our arrangements came with breakfast which was astounding and the locations were good as a map will verify for you. (In Vienna we stayed elsewhere.)

I think four days is generous for each city - we had less time but loved every second. Bottom line - you're doing this right!

Looks great. I did the exact same trip in the same order but gave more time to each. I would add a day to each city if you can get more time away. Your travel time between cities can take away a half day.

Sorry can't comment on your hotels but if you go to the Marriott site or call Marriott they can advise where the hotels are located and then you can check on viamichelin or mappy to see where in relation to center city.

I agree with sallyjane3 about the train rides. They were great. Bring some food and wine on the trains and enjoy the scenery.
