Barcelona rental for two couples??
Been a while since Ive been on here and have to say the search engine now is not great. Not real easy to narrow down to Barcelona for looking at rentals etc.
Anyway, two couples, 50s and 60s will be in Barcelona March 4-7 2018. Arriving via train departing via BCN. Looking for places to stay. Prefer specific places people have stayed in. The whole licensing things is a bit wonky to me for VRBO, etc. so looking for first hand suggestions.
Firat time for all of us. Not late night party owls, more interested in food, wine, etc.
Have a friend who stays in Barri Gotic, but he stays in hotels. We are looking for a rental. prefer <$200 -250 per night 2 BR 2 BA min
Thanks in advance.

You should ensure that any rental you have has a registration number and that number corresponds with the property.
Many illegals are being closed https://www.theguardian.com/technolo...s-in-barcelona
http://www.eldiario.es/catalunyaplur...676482747.html
Look up the license number on this page
https://empresa.extranet.gencat.cat/...Java/index.jsp
Choose the castigatory you are looking for first.
It is all in English if you need it.

We are going to Spain in mid October and have booked an apartment in Barcelona for two couples about your ages. WE booked on Tripadvisor. It is in the Gothic quarter. If you send me your e-mail I will try to send you the link. Obviously we will know more when we return the first of November.

Spain Select (now Home Select) has been very helpful in finding apartments for us in Madrid and Sevilla. They have beautiful properties, and are very responsive via email:

Robert, many private rental apts are now on Tripadvisor, just like hotels. I haven't done it so I'm not sure how the booking goes, but it looks similar to VRBO in that you can "book now" and also you can get "payment protected" which is really a product of a couple of TA's subsidiaries like Flipkey, which are the ones offering the apts, I believe. In fact, at the top bar of Tripadvisor you can click on hotels, restaurants, flights, things to do, or "vacation rentals"
I don't understand the OP'' comment that the licensing is "a bit wonky" with VRBO, etc so that's why they are asking people (who likely would have no idea of legality, anyway). Rental websites are supposed to list the tourist license number. The ones on TA do (if they have one). I know some of those on VRBO do as I've seen it (generally at the bottom of the description section). If they don't, I wouldn't deal with them (in fact, I thought that was illegal, I thought it had to be listed on the ad, but I might be wrong). Because even if they have one, if they don't list it, they are making you do too much work to try to find out, and there isn't really any reason for them to omit it. If you mean it's wonky because some don't list it and some do on VRBO, I agree, but suspect that could be true on other websites like that, also.

We stayed in a wonderful Aparthotel, Hispanos7Suizas near La Sagrada Familia on a side street. Very nice property. Found it on www.Maribelsguides.com. We had a two BR, 2Bath apt, full kitchen,W/D, Front desk which was so helpful, like a hotel.
