Hi AP6380!
We're staying in Barcelona right now for 2 months and easily walked from our apartment (by the BCN Cathdral) up to Muntaner for lunch last week........nice area (although we prefer the old area to the Eixample).
When are you planning to visit?
Liz

Maribel--
I noticed in an old post of yours that you would "skip" Solsona. Why is that?
I'll be in Tarragona and thought that I would head to Solsona from there for a night.
Thanks for any info.

pep,
I've just never been particularly attracted to Solsona-nothing compelling there that beckons me. I was there again Jan. '07, and my opinion didn't change. Landscape/scenery wise, the Solsonés just isn't that appealing to me. (But that's just me...)
From Tarragona, I would rather do the Ruta del Císter, the Cistercian monastery triangle, starting with the Monestir de Poblet near l'Espluga de Francolí and hit Montblanc on the way.
That has an historical appeal to me.
And Vilafranca del Penedès plus Sant Sandurni d'Anoia for the wines/cavas!
