Barcelona, centrally located hotel

We are going to Barcelona on april, and would like a centrally located hotel, but not
very noisy..... Also three to four stars., and with ample rooms, not a tiny rooms like
in Paris hotels.
Any suggestions, we are staying three nights.
thanks in advance

They the 4-star Hotel Avenida Palace (www.avenidapalace.com/es/), very centrally located and the rooms are large enough and comfortable.

I would go for a hotel in the Eixample neighbourhood, particularly on or near Passeig de Gracia. This area has easy access to public transportation and is close to most of what you would want to see and the city's best shopping and restaurants. As a former Barcelona resident, la Rambla is not one of my favourite areas because it is very touristy and is a centre of pick-pocket activity (though I personally have never felt threatened by pick-pockets here or anywhere in Barcelona). I would avoid the dodgy Raval at all costs.

Not sure when cj lived in BCN, but the (upper half) of Raval is now a far cry from being "dodgy". Actually, it's now full of quite pricey hotels, designer stores, "hip" restaurants etc.. got almost fully gentrified with the advent of the MACBA.

If OP likes a "historic" neighborhood, the Barri Gotic or Born are okay, for a more upscale environment the aforementioned part of Eixample should do the job, esp. the 2-3 blocks left of Passeig de Gràcia between Gran Via and Diagonal.
Or directly on Pl. Catalunya, which is also lined with a dozen or so usually not too cheap hotels.

Except for the superior rooms, both the Jazz's and Pulitzer's room may be too small for martona. The Condes de Barcelona is fine as long as you have a room in the old section of the hotel.

As far as location goes, an if price is a consideration, the Avenida Palace is perfect.

I booked two nights at Hotel Constanza for about 85 euros per night. Seems like a great hotel, great location and reasonable price.

Will be staying there in few weeks.

The Hotel Constanza is fine, part of the NH group, but the location is not the best for touring Barcelona, 2 km from the city center.

what do you mean by city center? Isn't the location in between several sites?

My mistake. There are two Hotel Constanza's. You must be referring to the 2-star "design" Hotel Constanza at C/ Bruc, 33 and not the 4-star NH Hotel Constanza at C/ Deu i Mata, 69-99.
