Amsterdam on Easter Sunday

We are planning a trip to Belgium and Amsterdam during Easter week and looking for things to do over the holiday weekend. My friend said that Brussels will be shut down on Easter Sunday. Are the businesses and museums closed in Amsterdam on Easter Sunday? TIA Connie

You probably won't even know it's Easter in Amsterdam-I would think everything is open but just check official web site of places you want to visit to be sure.

Just another Sunday I would think.

Not many museums anywhere close on Easter, not even many of those in Spain do, but certainly not in Amsterdam. Some of those museums are open every single day of the year in Amsterdam, even on holidays a lot more important than Easter (like the Rijksmuseum and Ann Frank's house).

Your friend is wrong about Brussels. Most museums are open. The Horta museum is closed, though, but the musical instruments museum, costume, Brussels city museum and the fine arts museums are open.

WEhen you say businesses, what kind of business do you mean? Shops in the center will be open. YOu can stroll the gardens. I'm sure banks and offices will be closed of course, and post offices.

If you mean the same date, the answer is yes.

Easter Sunday is fixed by the rules of the Catholic Church. It is so many Sundays after the moon after whatever. I read the definition about 10 times on Wikipedia.
Anyway unless trump decided the church was a total disaster and he had alternate facts to say that Easter Sunday in the US will be on Tuesday may 8 then yes should be the same date.
I am surprised so much is open in Belgium but just check those sites of musea.
Lots of touristic shops will be open - actually all of them it is school holiday so they will make money.
Maybe a little crowded.
