Airport To Rome City Centre Transfer

We are three UK travellers, due to arrive in Rome from London in 10 days time. On looking on the Net the cheapest coach price for the 3 of us from Ciampino Airport to our City Centre hotel seems to be around £50. Would a general taxi charge any less than this?

Many thanks for any responses.

Or you could take the train for a few euros - train runs by the airport but not into it - shuttle to train station from terminals. Goes to Ostiense station in Rome i believe, which has metro and train connections to many parts of town.

If you take the train, be sure to get the express!
And you can get a train to Termini station in Rome.

Briggl is obviously talking about Fiumicino.

There is no train from Ciampino to Rome; PalQ has given you the right information.

A taxi should cost half that price - but make sure you get a licensed cab to minimize your chance of getting ripped off. You want a white car with a taxi sign on top from the official taxi line.

Another option: I've often gotten cheaper coach/car service rates than what you quoted by arranging with my hotel directly. And you can be assured that he knows how to get to your destination.

Brilliant - thanks for your extremely quick replies - I am a Fodor's Fan now!!

I think I will take up bobludlow's advice and liaise with the hotel direct to see if they can arrange anything cheaper. The train would be good if there were no changes and it just got us from A to B direct.

Many thanks again.

Veriti - The Terravision bus shuttle to Termini costs € 13.50 (£9.50) return.

For a limo transfer, try these for a quote:

Hope this helps ...

Sorry. I should have paid more attention to which airport you were arriving at.

Hi Meggles - I think you can double that.

It might be a bit cheaper if you pre-book with:

Hope this helps ...
