Accommodation - Bath and Oxford

Hi there,

Can any of you recommend a good B & B in either of these locations. 2 adults travelling with well behaved 12 & 15 year old. They haven't given me an idea of how much they want to spend (but I think they'll be flexible if the place is good) and they don't mind sharing facilities either. They'll only be staying 1 night in each location.

Sorry to keep topping this - but does no-one have any suggestions for Oxford/Bath accommodation? Responses greatly appreciated. Thanks

I can recommend that you do not stay in the quad/family room of the Car Fax Hotel in Bath. The hotel got good reviews, but the family room was miserable.

The reason you haven't heard about B&B's in Oxford is simply that there aren't that many good ones. I can recommend Marborough House on Woodstock Road. It's a good mile or more from Carfax (Oxford center) but the bus stops nearby and runs frequently. Very easy to use. Pembroke House is another possibility.

For Bath, I suggest you goggle your request or try www.tripadvisor.com Sorry I have no experience with B&B's in Bath.

We stayed at Tasburgh House in Bath. The rates were reasonable, hosts friendly and rooms very nice. We had an excellent meal at the George Pub a short walk away. Short by British standards!
