Acceptable airfare?
I posted on the airlines forum and am now trying a wider base..I am working on a multi-city ticket...Sacramento to NYC; Dulles to Rome; London to Sacramento...for financial reasons, must be economy...does not include any transportation within Europe...My question, which I understand does not have a definitive answer, is, for an October/November trip, how does $1300 apiece sound....haven't flown internationally for over twenty years, so have no personal experience to base an opinion on...thank you for your time,

Hi D,
www.kayak.com is showing about $1250 for the fall.
Also check the airline websites. They might have deals.
Try www.whichbudget.com for discount flights from Rome to London.
Enjoy your visit.

Thank you Ira. So,in your opinion, does that constitute a reasonable fare, which should be purchased and forgotten in order to plan the rest of the trip? I promise not to whine if you say "yes" and it gets cheaper!

Dupher,
Check out www.tickets-to-europe.com I found a fare of $1,000.22 per person for October/November. You would fly from Sacramento to Dulles and Dulles to Rome. On the return it would be Heathrow to Chicago and Chicago to Sacramento! Happy travels!

I've seen several different places to check on-line for fares and then call a travel agent. I did that for our recent trip and the TA saved us $300+ per ticket (4 tickets) over any internet fare (Orbitz, UA, etc). Kathie
