2 weeks in Spain in November
I am planning a trip Nov 5-19th. Flying in and out of Barcelona. I would like any suggestions as to how best to spend my time. I was planning on spending half in Barcelona and half in Seville. Is this too long in Seville? Should I stop anywhere on the way down to Seville? We were planning on taking the overnight train and then flying back. Any and all suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

I would definitely take time to spend a couple of days in Granada to see the Alhambra. The Alhambra is simply exquisite and shouldn't be missed. Although November may not be the best time to visit the pueblos blancos, I'd try to visit several including Ronda, Grazelema and Arcos. Seville is a wonderful, warm, atmospheric city but I think you can enjoy it in 4 days, leaving you time for Granada and the Andalucian countryside.

We spent almost two weeks in Spain last month. you can check out the trip reports under my login. I'd do 5 nights in Barca, 5 in Sevilla and take another few days in the Pueblos Blancos. You can fly on Iberia between Barca and Sevilla very cheaply.

Yes
3 days IMO would be enough for Saville (lovely as it is) and the rest in Andalusia.
Do you really want to spend 8 days (if mt calculations are correct) in Barcelona?
What about Madrid and th Prado?

An all-preferente Talgo sleeper departs Barcelona around 22:30 and arrives Sevilla around 08:30. It's a very comfortable ride: 2-person compartments (upper & lower). There's a food shop in Barcelona Sants station: Buy some snacks and drinks for the trip there: I was 7-carriages away from the Cafe car (a 'hike').
Compartments have a small sink; but the WC's are at the end of the carriage.
I think 3-days is enough for Barcelona, especialy considering the fact that you will be returning there to catch your flight home. If it were me, I would take a leisurely route to Madrid for a couple of days, take AVE to Sevilla and visit Andalucia (Cadiz, el Puerto de Santa Maria, maybe some 'white villages' like Ronda).
As for stopping somewhaer on the way down to Sevilla: an easterly route would make Granada convenient; or a direct route from Madrid (AVE) goes thru Cordoba.

Thanks for all the advice. I am thinking maybe 4 night in Barc, 4 nights in Seville. I have heard good things about Cuenca and Valencia. I prefer to skip Madrid this trip. Should I take the train down to Seville and stop on the way?

This would be my first time to Spain schedule:
* 3 days Barcelona - fly or train to Madrid
* 2 days Madrid - high speed train to Sevilla
* 3 days Seville - (including 1 day r/t Cordoba by high speed train)
* 2 days Granada - rental car to the coast Nerja, Marbella or Tarifa
* 4 days relaxing and see Ronda and maybe... Tangier?

Andalucia has an incredible ambiance to it. I would add a day or so in Jerez, outside of Sevilla, to sample sherries, and if possible, attend a young-bull ranch. Here, there are bullfights where the young bulls are not killed, just taunted...Most of the bulls forthe rings come from this area. Don't miss Ronda, and the Alhambra. The Prado in Madrid is worth an overnight there...
