Cruise for very first time!

My wife and I will be leaving on our first Cruise out of Miami for a week in the Caribbean stopping in San Juan, St. Maarten and St. Kitt on the Celebrity Eclipse.

I would appreciate any suggestions while on board and when we are in the locales.

We will be celebrating both our 46th wedding anniversary and my birthday so anything to make it really special would be helpful.

Thanks!

My wife and I did the same itinerary on the Eclipse one month ago. What a beautiful ship! We celebrated our 39th anniversary, enjoying dinner in Muranos. Our favorite places on board was the Solarium pool and our balcony. The food in the main dining and oceanview cafe was very good also. We also enjoyed the main pools and hot tubs in th early part of the day, especially the warm, fresh water pools! Overall, we have a great time and always enjoy sailing with Celebrity. Hope you enjoy sailing on this fabulous ship!

Regards, Bob

Thanks qwovadis for the link and Bob for your suggestions.

I made dinner reservations for Qsine. While I am familiar with San Juan I know nothing about either St.Maarten or St. Kitt. I would rather do side trips on my own rather than with a Touring company.

Congrats on the 46th Anniverssary. It certainly is a milestone.

For St. Maarten, other than the beautiful beaches and all the water sports, you may want to look into the Butterfly Farm or Fort Amsterdam. Lee's Roadside Grill and Bar is definitely worth a visit as the menu changes daily.

For St. Kitt, they have beautiful beaches & great snorkelling The most often overlooked activity from Cruise passengers is bird watching. If you are interested in historical sites, I liked the Brimstone Hill Fortress the best. There are lots of historical sites in St. Kitt, ranging from churches, sugar factory to water works.

Since the typical coffee served on cruise ships are medicore at best, and if you love great coffee, a visit to Caribe Cafe maybe worthwhile. There food menu is very simple though.

Congrats on your anniversary. Our members have raved about Qsine, you'll love it. For St. Maarten, the Butterfly Farm could be fun and on St. Kitts the Scenic Railway tour gets good reviews.

We've listed other 'Must-sees' here: http://meetoncruise.com/ports/St-Martin.php#mustsee and here: http://meetoncruise.com/ports/St-Kitts.php#mustsee

You might also want to sign up for your cruise roll call and meet others on your cruise: http://meetoncruise.com/roll-calls

Enjoy.

Congrats on this occasion! For St. Maarten try this gal. We had a great tour with her company.
