Do the slot machines seem to pay out regularly or are they really tight?

Think of it this way, there is only one Casino on the ship and no where else to go. The Casino is on a ship in international waters with no one checking on it. <BR>On the Carnival Victory a few weeks ago one of my table mates made some money playing craps and I think he almost lived in the Casino the entire trip, but he said in the entire week he only saw one person get a slot jackpot and it was only $300. Best &quot;bet&quot; is to save your money.

This may not help but here goes...<BR>I've been on two Carnival cruises and I did not see or hear of anyone hitting anything remotely close to a 'jackpot'.<BR>The same for the two RC cruises we've been on. Granted, I may not be in the casino as often as some because my husband doesn't enjoy it, so I try not to go off and leave him a lot. <BR>BUT, I did win 3240 quarters($810)on the Norwegian Sea a couple of years ago and I saw a couple of other good pay outs on that cruise..one lady won $1000 on a dollar machine. I won on one of those 5 quarter machines that have the 5 different line payouts. I usually try to play a 2 or 3 quarter machine because I believe in playing the machine max and, on my limited gambling budget, it can go fast at 5 coins a pop.<BR><BR>I guess I'm saying that, yes, you can win on a ship but it doesn't seem like it's likely or often.<BR><BR>Good luck, and don't bet the farm!!!

Thanks Hold and esd.<BR><BR>Well it sounds like Vegas. Yes you could win, but it is highly unlikely.<BR><BR>Does anyone else have anything to add about the slots or the casino in general.<BR><BR>Thanks

Just went on the Carnival Conquest with a large family group.Grandson played something called let it ride and won $5,000 in less then 10 min.Quite a few won on slots but nothing more than $200-$300.

The only real difference (and it's not monumental) is that the cruise ships have one version of blackjack that I haven't seen at 'land' casinos. It's blackjack where all cards are turned up, including the dealers. He still must hit 16 and stay on 17, but there is no push..if you and he have (say) 20, the dealer wins. Also, blackjack only pays even money. I'm sure they have figured this out in the houses' favor, but it is kind of fun. I was lucky a couple of times playing this and lost lots of hands in a row another time. Sometimes the dealer gets on a winning streak that just won't quit!!<BR><BR>I like blackjack but you won't win any &quot;huge&quot; amounts like the last poster mentioned for Let It Ride. But it is a fun, up and down, game and you can usually play for quite a while on limited funds.<BR><BR>Once again..good luck!!

Hi All,<BR><BR>Well Joanie1225 that was great news. I hope I'll have as much good luck.<BR><BR>ESD, that version of blackjack sounds fun. That is something I like about blackjack. You could play all night on $100. There have been times that I'll go through $100 in a half hour on slot machines. <BR><BR>If anyone else has anything esle to add or any great casono stories to tell plearse do so.<BR><BR><BR>

I'm &quot;plearsed&quot; to relate my &quot;casono&quot; story about a Carnival cruise of mine. I'm not saying that everyone aboard a CCL cruise is cheap, but I saw a couple one night who had found a change machine that would dispense $1.10 for every paper dollar put it. I first saw them at aound 9:00 pm and they had three or four buckets of dimes next to them. They were still there at 7:00 am when I got up for breakfast. By my calculations, if they changed a dollar every 20 seconds, thats three per minute or 180 per hour. Thats $18.00 per hour profit, so for the 10 hours I know they were at it, they made $180.00. Of course there were a dozen or so empty bottle of beer next to them as well, so I imagine they drank most of their profit.<BR><BR>Peter

That Blackjack game is knowns at &quot;Double Exposure&quot; and is prevalent in many Atlantic City casinos (not sure about Las Vegas). As with most new variations of traditional games, the odds for the &quot;new&quot; game put the odds even more in the house's favor!<BR><BR>If you can play all nite at a Blackjack table for $100, consider yourself VERY lucky. I've had nites where i've never been down since the moment i've sat down, but also have nites where $100 is gone in 20 minutes (yes, at a $5 table... quick dealer, lose a few splits and double downs, and it's gone in no time at all).
