We sailed on the Inspiration about 4 years ago. It is a fine ship provided Carnival has kept it maintained. For some reason once a ship is a few years old, Carnival seems to neglect it and gives all the attention to it's newest ones. The Inspiration has an atrium of about 9 stories and it is the center piece of the ship.

I too sailed the Inspiration a few years ago. It has the most beautiful library I have ever seen on any ship. Has a very attractive, albeit unique, boulevard.

No where near the Las Vegas type decor of the Fantasy Class ships.

As with all mass-market cruise lines, you may find spots on the carpets, scratches on furniture, etc. They do have a crew that cleans this up in the limited time available between cruises. It takes them 20 minutes to lay a carpet. The staterooms are clean (except they do not always vacuum under the beds). The bathrooms are always clean and cleaned thoroughly once a day. Touched up again in the evening.

The ship's public areas are always spotless and are cleaned continuously along with the outside of the ship. It will appear brand new to you.

The food is very good and the service is average. Just keep in mind it is a value family cruise. Do not expect the Four Seasons.
It will be great fun.

Enjoy,

Paul
