Best Luxury Cruise to Greek Islands?

My husband and I are planning a cruise to the Greek Islands and surrounding areas in late August or early September. Which is your favorite luxury cruise line? It's a 60th birthday present!

All the major cruise lines go to Greece in the summer, but it's hard to know if a specific line will be wailing there without knowing more about your dates of travel. But you can search easily.

I love the new Regent Explorer, but in the luxury market it's top of the line and costs well over $1000 per day. Regent has other ships. So one important question is what you mean by "luxury" and how much your budget is.

There are other cruises that I would deem very nice (not at all mainstream) that are significantly cheaper.

Some of the top luxury lines include Seabourn, Crystal, Silversea, and SeaDream. Ponant offers a luxury experience but on a much smaller ship ... something more akin to a luxury yacht. Not all of these options are equally expensive.

For something that's almost but not quite luxury (still very very nice), look at Azamara or a more top-level suite on Celebrity.

Just back from Rome to AThens cruise on Silver Cloud (ship of SilverSea)
Our first cruise ever. Highly recommend it. Excellent in every possible way. Small ship but with everything you could possible want. The best service we have ever had in all of our years of lots of trave. No inexpensive, but worth it.

We are Crystal fans, so we would recommend either the Serenity or the Symphony. We love the size of the ships---not too big, not too small. Sea days on these ships are fabulous. There are so many choices of things to do. The food and service incredible!

Agree with Woodlin, for a perfect cruise, go with Crystal... more to do on Serenity and Symphony.. Their new Esprit yacht has more adventure. Dining, service, enrichment programs, entertainment is the best.

Either way, you'll feel like king & queen.. splurge for veranda and if you can swing it, go for the Penthouse.. all inclusive..

If your more into just dining, then Oceania, is a great value.
