Wyndham El Conquistador v. Intercontinental
#2
We really would need more information about what you're looking for in a vacation to give you a recommendation. These are two very different properties in very different locations. Do you want city atmospher or a more secluded atmosphere? Do you like to people watch on the beach or do you want crystal clear water and snorkeling? etc.

I would like to be on the beach/ see as much of PR that I can in short stay. I would like to mingle with the people and it seems the El Conquistador may be too secluded. Thanks for your reply.

hello,
the intercontinental is a great location and you can get good deals you are right next to the ritz and the el san juan and cabbing it is easy from there. just keep in mind, san juan can be misleading in that it is a city and just like any other city there is traffic and an urban feel not sure what you are into clubs or relaxing etc... just be aware of that and if you can venture out to the mountains or the west coast...very very different and really beautiful.
either way have fun.

We just returned from El Conquistador. I have to tell you it is a very secluded place. We did not venture out too much because we had a 2 year old with us, so exploring the Rainforest and Bio Bays would have been difficult. The resort was nice and property was beautiful. We had a standard room, which was spacious with a very large bathroom. The food was ok, but very expensive. Breakfast for myself and husband was $24.00. We ate at the Stingray cafe the last night, the food was excellent. We had steak, lobster and shrimp, a glass of wine and appetizer and it was $146.00. The island they ferry you too is beautiful. There are lawn chairs, water stuff available to rent and waiters. I wanted to venture away from the resort for dinner on evening, but we were to nervous about the surroundings. * Also they charge $10.00/day to park, so add that to the cost of the hotel room. They don't tell you that before you get there.
