OLD BAHAMA BAY? alcohol in luggage

I'll be staying at OBB in Feb. for 5 nights with all food except alcoholic beverages. I understand it is quite a jaunt to anywhere and was wondering if the airport in Freeport has someplace to buy some nice wines or champagne. I would normally carry some with me, but now with all the restrictions, can't do so. Do you think I would regret carrying some in my luggage? Thanks

I carry alcohol back and forth all the time. I use towels and large plastic bags to pack.. or bubble wrap. It's a bit heavy.. especially with the restrictions on weight. But I like good wine with dinner when I cook at the house and can't always get something good on the island.

You could put the "hootch" in plastic bottles and then carefully wrap them. It should work I think.

Actually I just got this form the OBB web site.
Approximately 15 miles from West End is Eight Mile Rock. It has substantially more shopping than West End and features a new Winn Dixie, laundry facility, drycleaners, and other assorted stores.
So a one time stop there for supplies should be convienent enough I would think.

Just a grain of salt to that. Eight Mile Rock is more like a 25-minute drive from OBB. So it is not very convenient. You could stop there on your way to the resort from the airport. The taxi driver will stop for you if you ask him to.
