Just posted my Key West trip report and photos

Since all of my travel friends are on this forum, just wanted to share the link to my Conch Republic report.

Kristen,
Thanks for taking time to write this. Looks like you had a great time.
We have a short cruise coming up with a stop in Key West. We have not been there.
Generally, I like walking and hate tours, but DH is wondering if one of the trolley tours would be good.
What do you think?
If you had only one day there, how would you spend it?
Nothing against it, but the bars hold no interest.
Considering that, best place for lunch sitting outside?
We do want to visit the Hemingway house.

Thanks for your opinions.

How long do you have in port? Many of the ships leave around lunch time. You could definitely walk and see most everything in the downtown KW area. Or take the Conch Tour Train which is a bit touristy but not cruise ship touristy; and very informative. For lunch with a view, perhaps the upstairs at Turtle Kraals. Or on Sunset Island if they do lunch. You could also do Louie's Backyard on the other end of Duval which sits right on the water. Blue Heaven or Kelly's are good but you will have more of a tropical garden setting. If you want to be on Duval, I recommend Caroline's.

We will have from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, but considering time getting off and on ship, Probably 6-7 hours.

I will look at all your restaurant recs. Several look great!

I'm glad you made it over to the Botanical Garden as it's one of my favorite places on the island. Next up...the small garden inside the Casa Antigua.
