Hotel/B&B near Piarco Airport, Trinidad
Can anyone recommend a hotel or B&B near Piarco Airport Trinidad? I am transiting that airport on my way to Guyana and back from Suriname, so I just need a clean hotel, relatively close to POS, and it would be great if they provide airport transfer. I have booked the Bel Air, but in speaking to friends and reading the unanimous, terrible reviews on tripadvisor, I understand this hotel is a real sh*thole. Hopefully, there are better options. Thanks

You may want to check out the MyTobago board. I know this topic comes up there from time to time, but off hand, I don't recall specific hotels besides Bel Air. A few years ago I stayed at a place called Piarco International Hotel, but I don't think it's still in business.

It was fine for a night. My flight arrived late in the evening, and my connecting flight to Tobago was early the next morning, so I really didn't spend too much time there. It was a basic room with a bed, TV, and bathroom. It was clean. At the time there was also a free airport shuttle.

Sorry ... I'm being rather dense today and wish we had the option of recalling our posts. Toucan Inn is near the airport in Tobago. In Trinidad, Pax Guest House is in Tunapuna, not terribly far from the airport, and it's cheap.
