help planning a trip with kids
we are trying to satisfy our 5 and 12 year olds for february break... we did westin rio mar 2 years ago for the kids. they had a blast. we didn't. Last year we went to mallihouana in anguilla. we all loved it, but my 12 year old was a little bored in the eves. can anyone suggest someplace as lovely as malli, but with a little more going on for a 'tween? thanks!!

I think Anguilla is to quiet for many kids because it tends to be more of a romantic getaway spot.
My son is 11 and in Feb., we went to Grand Cayman. We all loved it, and are thinking of going back next year. If not GC, then the Turks and Caicos Islands.
Does your 12 yr. old like watersports, especially snorkeling?

My kids age 6 and 11 loved RCCL's Navigator of the Seas cruise to the Western Caribbean. We also own a timeshare at Hyatt Hacienda Del Mar in Puerto Rico and they love it there, especially the river pool and water slide. What didn't you like about the Westin Rio Mar? My kids love Camp Hyatt at night so we get some adult time. When asked, the 11 year old will say her favorite vacation was the Navigator and my 6 year old says Hyatt Hacienda Del Mar because he is very happy being at the beach and pool all day. Going to Hawaii in three weeks, we'll see what they say after that. Another good place is Marriott Aruba Ocean Club. None of these is on par with Malliouhana though ... also check out Ritz Carlton Jamaica.

Just thought of a another great choice if you will consider Mexico -- Four Seasons Punta Mita. My husband and I were there without the kids in April, it is a great resort, very family-oriented with lots of activities. See my review on this site and tripadvisor.com
