construction at Little dix Bay
Any recent reports on construction at Little dix bay- I believe the last comments on this site are from April and I wondered if anyone has news since then. We have plans for last week of Oct. Thanks

I know this isn't much help at all, but talked to a couple at the Miami airport that were on their way home from LDB. This is one week ago today. They said they really enjoyed themselves,& the new pool was very nice. They said the noise did not reach them, but there were people in rooms right by the construction that did experience noise. They said they had a fantastic time. Maybe you can contact the resort and asked to be placed away from the construction. Or better yet, maybe it will be done? Have a great trip!

Just got back from a week on VG, though I didn't stay at LDB, I was there everyday picking up guests on the dive boat. My wife and I also spent an entire afternoon there enjoying their buffet lunch and several hours on the beach.
We did comment how annoying the construction noise coming from the hillside was. They are still working on the villas which seems far away distance wise, but the pounding of hammers still carried its way to interupt our peaceful lunch and lounging on the beach.
Maybe the noise will subside by Oct. for you. Hope you have a nice stay. Say hi to Caswell the chef, we had him come to our villa one evening to cook and he was wonderful!

To Aha4159623: Thanks for the info. re. Little Dix Bay. Is the construction going on near the spa? If so, would it be best to request a room on the opposite end of the resort, near the children's grove and fitness center?
Thanks.
Thanks.

To brenkj, Hello, since we didn't use the spa I don't know exactly where it is. However, I was at the activity/dive center near the dock in the a.m. for about a half hour and heard power saws.
They sounded close by.
The rest of the noise and hammering was coming from the hillside on the west side of the resort where the new villas are being constructed. So to answer your question, I think the best location for your room would be on the east side of the bay, the further down the bay the better. Hope This helps.

We just got back from LDB on Saturday. Yes, there is some construction going on, in 2 locations. At the resort at the end closer to the dock. And on the hillside essentially in the center of the bay. We stayed in room 118, closer to the east end near the spa. never heard the construction during the morning, evening or night. It was really only durind mid afternoon. That hillside construction looks like it may be going on for a while more...they are building villas. As for the construction at LDB itself near the dock, never heard it unless we were actually walking by it. I would recommend the rooms closer to the east end though, just so you aren't walking through that noise during the afternoon if you walk back to your room for anything. It's so peaceful there, keep it that way by staying on the far end from the dock.
