Simpson Bay Timeshares

Looking for feedback on The Towers at Mullet Bay, a timeshare located in Simpson Bay. Has anyone stayed there? How is the water and weather on this side of the island?

Hi Andrea,

Simpson Bay and Mullet Bay are on opposite sides of the airport. Are you sure the Mullet Bay Towers are located in Simpson Bay?

Simpson Bay is a nice area, however, I'd do more research on the Mullet Bay area. There seems to be a great beach there, but the old Mullet Bay Resort and Golf Course is a real eye-sore since it has never been restored after devestating Hurricane Luis in '95.

I could be mistaken, but I'd look into the locations a bit closer and see exactly where The Towers are located.

I believe that this resort is near the golf course. I have read form previous postings that this course is in a state of disrepair. I will try to do further research. What comments can anyone provide on this side of the island and the lagoon?

If it by any means faces any part of the golf course, then I wouldn't stay there. Yes, the golf course and it's surrounding buildings are in a terrible state of disrepair. However, as I said before, Mullet Bay beach itself looks nice.

I know a lot of people who stay in that area of the island stay at Sapphire Beach Club (which is a bit isolated for me), and also the resorts in the Maho area (which is a very nice area for tourists, if you don't mind the planes landing nearby).

Let me know what specific info you need and I'll try to help. I go to SXM quite often.

Statia - Maybe you should do some research before you make comments, usually you are right on, but not this time. The Towers at Mullet Bay is on the Lagoon, which is part of Simpson Bay, it overlooks Pt. Piorette(sp) and you can see Marigot in the distance, Maho in the distance and Mullet Bay Beach. the course is in great shape, compared to the past few years. This is a gold crown resort and one of the best in the island. It is very close to the Maho area, but far enough away to not hear the planes. You feel like you are in the middle of nowhere but are right in the heart of things. It is on the golf course, and the lagoon, its probably one of the best locations to get around the entire island, great starting point. But once you hit Mullet Bay Beach, you will never leave!!!! The gounds of the old resort are looking very good, even though the buildings are crumbling, but its still a very pretty area.

Towers Owner,

Are you saying that they have FINALLY fixed those deplorable buildings all over the golf course? If so, great. If not, yes, the course is fine for playing, however, when I drive thru there, the property itself looks awful. It's been an embarassment for years for me to take visiting friends thru there.

I did state that if the Towers FACE the course, I wouldn't personally stay there....and I wouldn't. I thought I had made it clear, too, that I had not stayed at Towers myself. I was mostly commenting on the golf course/resort situation because the last time I drove thru there (less than six months ago), the buildings were still in awful shape.

Sorry for the confusion, but I was just trying to give Andrea SOME info, since obviously no one else cared to at that point.

Another Towers owner here, if you can get into the resort I would go for it. Yes the old buildings are empty and run down, but all around them they have been cleaned up, and not as bad as it was. I just got back and thought it looked the best it has in years. You are a short 2 minute drive out to Maho, perfect example of location - we left the room at 7:45am to brings bags to airport, went and picked up pastries up at the Citrus market, and were back in the room at 8:25!!! The beach is wonderful, short walk or you can drive, we walked it once, I'm not a walker but had no problems, you are right on the lagoon so you have a nice breeze while at the pool. Joggers and walkers were all over the old resort grounds early in the morning. Just don't walk at night. Feel free to e-mail me if you have any other questions. If you have your room number, I can tell you your view or even fnd some pictures for you!!

Glad to hear it Andrea. I'm sure the Towers is a fine place to stay, after the responses by the other posters. I just didn't want you to end up on the golf course, that's all.

Have fun!
