Best destination for the holidays
we're trying to plan a trip for the holidays this year, and since we did hawaii last, we're thinking Caribbean. we've been to US & British VI, love St. John, but are wondering if we should try some place new. several people have recommended St. Lucia. there will likely be 6 of us, all family, no small kids. we like the beach and good food, moderate activity, nothing too extreme. also nightlife is not really a concern. prefer to rent a house/villa, not hotel. suggestions??

your group might enjoy windjammer landing: http://www.windjammer-landing.com/
for reviews and lots of photos: http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Rev..._St_Lucia.html
st lucia has zip line, drive through volcano, some snorkeling, the pitons, jeep and atv tours, rain forest, plantations, exotic birds & botanical gardens.
provo, t&c is my favorite island, but not at all lush like st. john and st. lucia. stunning beach, outstanding diving and good snorkeling, some very good dining options.

I would choose the BVI to avoid crowds. The Christmas holidays is one of the most expensive and crowded times to visit the Caribbean, and if you could wait until after that would be best. But if you really want to go then, you'll do better off on a less-visited island, in my opinion.
