Anacaona v. Viceroy v. Frangipani
I am heading to Anguilla with my spouse in June. Currently we have booked six nights at Anacaona because of the great rates. I am wondering if it would be worth the money to stay a few nights at the Viceroy or Frangipani. The pool at the Viceroy overlooking the ocean looks amazing! I know Anacaona is a short walk to the beach. Is it worth is to pay double to be right on the beach? Should I book a few nights of luxary or save my money?

You should know that although the views are stunning at Viceroy, the beach access is not quick and easy. You will not be "right on the beach" at Viceroy. Frangi has the better/easier access to the beach. But if you want the luxury experience, Viceoy will give you this. I don't see the point of moving from Anacaona to Frangi -- too close in distance.

We just returned from a 7-night stay at Anacaona a week ago. We stayed at Frangipani for 5 nights in 2007.
Anacaona, as you know, is a great deal right now. That's why we stayed there this time. We're not picky travelers, though, so some of the lack of amenities (scant beach service, 4-minute walk to the beach) and a little shabbier rooms didn't bother us. However, there is quite a big difference in room and service quality between Frangipani and Anacaona. Frangipani had immaculately clean rooms, great beach service, and was right next to the beach. At Anacaona, the rooms were noticeably older. They've remodeled them aesthetically somewhat, but you can tell you're in an older hotel.
This didn't bother us, but I can see it bothering other people. If you're looking for a more-carefree and upscale experience and willing to spend a little more, I would choose Frangipani.
We did visit the Viceroy and its grounds, bars and pools are gorgeous. It's also a great place for celebrity-spotting. But we weren't interested in spending those prices.
