Adult resort
Hi All
I am looking to travel to Aruba in Sept. We are 3 couples late 20's-early 30's. We would like a place that has a good balance of low key relaxation as well as a fun atmophere. In other words, we dont want a party 24/7 but we dont want a ghost town either. Any place that has on site or is relatively close to bars, casinos, restaurants would be ideal. Also, we prefer a place with few or no kids. Any suggestions are appreciated.

The Wyndham is in the center of Palm Beach, has five restaurants, a car-rental desk if you decide to rent a car later and is close to other restaurants. You'll find other couples and honeymooners, but in September, few families.

I think the Bucuti on Eagle Beach would be perfect...there's casinos and more action in the high rise area a short bus ride away (on Palm Beach), Eagle Beach is less populated, and Bucuti has a no kids policy.

Technically the Bucuti does not forbid children, but its website states, "we do not recommend our resort for families."
I don't believe there is a real adults-only resort in Aruba, so the Bucuti comes the closest.
If you would prefer a larger hotel with an on-site casino, you might consider the Radisson or the Wyndham - probably not many children in September.
Definitely avoid (due to kids) La Cabana, Holiday Inn, Marriott.

I believe the 18+ rule applies only to the Tara suites.
By the way, the beach in front of the Bucuti (and Manchebo, Costa Linda, and north a bit) is one of the best we've ever seen.
The Bucuti tries so hard to discourage people from bringing children, without a blanket prohibition, that we've often wondered if Aruban law forbids an outright ban.
We stayed next door (at the Manchebo) with our 14-year-old but there were only a few children around.

The Aruba Grand is a good alternative to Bucuti because it's on Palm Beach, which has much more activity. The Grand (not to be confused with the Occidental Grand, which I think used to be Allegro) has few kids and a quieter atmosphere than the rest of the hotels on Palm Beach, but it's also less crowded. I think you should check it out. We're staying there for our 3rd time this year.

We stayed at Bucuti in Sept 2004 & are going back around the same time this year. It has few kids, we maybe saw two well-behaved ones. It has a huge gorgeous beach & a small pool. Is is definitely low-key but there is happy hours & steel drum player each night. We loved it. Stayed in Deluxe Oceanview last time & Tara Suite next time. The non-Tara Wing will be under construction from now through November. Casino nearby, $8 taxi ride downtown for restaraunts & bars.
