Stewart Museum, Point a Calliere, Center for History and McCord Museum
Hello again,
All those museums mentioned above state they are history museums. Which ones do you recommend the most? How much time to allocate to each of those?
Would it be too much to try and visit all of them? Which ones to leave out?
Thanks.

I highly recommend the McCord Museum to learn about the history of Montreal. In addition to the permanent collection, there are temporary exhibits on various themes related to Montreal and Quebec history and culture. Allow a minimum of 2 hours.

I am a big fan of the archeological Pointe a Calliere museum. It often has special exhbits, too. Of the others I would recommend the McCord
For historical buildings/museums you might consider the Chateau Ramezay in Old Montreal and the Maison St Gabriel which is a little more out of the way but very interesting.

Thanks. Maison Gabriel does seem interesting as well. McCord seems to be a favorite and right now their special exhibition is Horst Vogue fashion photos.
I guess no one has been to the Stewart Museum recently? Not sure if that will be worth our while. We do want to go to the Biosphere on the Island but not sure if we will have time to also explore the Fort. The Fort appears to be about a mile (or slightly longer than a kilometer from the metro station) and some complained that you are walking through parking lots rather than pavement to get there.
Point a Calliere also appeals along with the History Center nearby.

Raising four children in Montreal made us appreciate its proximity to Ottawa, so I can't comment on your choices.
However, an alternative to the Bioshere/Fort (where I have never been) would be a day in the Botanical Gardens and nearby Chateau Dufrense. In addition, in the Botanical Garden is an excellent insectarium and nearby Biodome.
