Seattle-Vancouver-Whistler itinerary

Please comment on a 10-day trip we are planning for August 07: Wondering if we should skip Whistler altogether (too many tourists, busses and hubbub with road construction?) and go to Tofino on Van.Island instead. We are baby boomers, who want to sample a little of everything. And we CAN stay a bit longer than 10 days. (maybe 12-14?)Thanks, travel experts!
Day 1: fly to Seattle (from midwest USA)
stay at Port Angeles,WA
Day 2: ferry to Victoria, lunch in Vic. (been there before) then drive/ferry to Salt Spring Island (on a Friday afternoon) stay 3 nites at Sky Valley B&B, so we can go to the Sat.market, and relax a bit.(Day 3 & 4.)
Day 5: Monday am- drive/ferry Nanimo-N.Vancouver, stay in Vancover City @ O' Canada House B&B.(+day 6)
Days 7,,8,9rive to Whistler, stay at Edgewater Lodge, light hiking, sightseeing, etc.
Day 10 : drive to Seattle see new sculpture park, shop, sightsee
Day 11: fly home that evening.

I will be the first to advise you to skip Whistler and see Tofino. I know that everyone else is going to say the same thing. There is no comparison. Whistler is a lovely ski village but Tofino and area are really spectacular.

Okay, I'll be the second. I would take a day off of Saltspring too.

Go to Tofino!

Whistler is nice if you have time though but Tofino definitely first.

Saltspring Fri afternoon & Sat-market is a good idea but I suggest heading out Sunday morning to spend that extra day in Vancouver city. (Prebooking the ferry is recommended)

It sounds like you are staying in North Vancouver? If so, check out Grouse Mountain and Capilano Suspension Bridge for some nice scenery and walks.
